On March 1st one of the big pioneers within paleolimnology and Quaternary Sciences, Gunnar Digerfeldt, passed away 89 yrs old after a very short period of hospitalization. He was alert as usual, and happy about his rich life, to the very end, and on the 9th April 2022 his colleagues and family had the burial ceremony in Lund's cathedral.
Gunnar was the role model for many of us, as a scientist, a dedicated and extremely curious field worker and as a humble, humoristic, charming and optimistic person. He will live in the memory of many of us who met him over the years.
