IPA meetings are open to IPA members and all those interested in paleolimnology. The IPA is committed to providing a safe, productive, respectful, open, inclusive and welcoming environment for all meeting participants and attendees. All participants are expected to abide by the IPA Meetings Code of Conduct which applies to all IPA meeting-related events including all online interactions (including mailings, social media and any other online facilities) and meeting-related social activities.

Expected behaviour:

• Be courteous, respectful and professional towards others, ensuring that all participants are treated with respect and consideration. 

• Communicate openly, critiquing ideas rather than individuals, allowing freedom of thought and expression, and valuing the diversity of participants, their views and opinions.

• Avoid personal attacks directed toward other attendees, participants, and suppliers/vendors. 

• Unacceptable behaviour will not be tolerated at the meeting. Examples of unacceptable behaviour include, but are not limited to, bullying, harassment, intimidation, inappropriate physical contact or unwelcome sexual attention, discrimination, continuous disruption of events or interference with participation or opportunity for participation of other people attending the meeting.

• Be mindful of your surroundings and of your fellow participants. Alert the venue staff or local organizing committee staff if you notice a dangerous situation or someone in distress.

• Respect the rules and policies of the meeting venue, hotels, contracted facility, or any other venue. 

• Mobile phones should be on silent mode or switched off in the lecture rooms.
