We are happy to announce that abstract submission is now open for the Virtual IAL-IPA ECR Meeting, scheduled for June 16–18, 2025.
Please note that the virtual and in-person meetings are complementary yet independent events. The virtual meeting is specifically designed for Early Career Researchers (ECRs), as well as for more advanced researchers interested in engaging with and supporting ECRs. Each meeting has its own abstract submission timeline.
Abstract submission deadline for the Virtual IAL-IPA ECR Meeting is May 12th, 2025.
ABSTRACT SUBMISSION
Please use Google Forms (preferred method). Only use the Excel and Word files (link below) if you are unable to access Google Forms due to restrictions.
Google Form for Abstract Submission and Anonymous Survey on Life and Work in Academia:
The submission form will guide you through: 1. General questions about yourself and your abstract, 2.An abstract template. 3. Uploading your abstract file, 4.Completing an anonymous survey on Life and Work in Academia
Important: Please ensure you upload your abstract file and click the submit button at the bottom of the form. You will receive a confirmation email within a few days after submission.
For those unable to access Google Forms, please follow these steps:
Send an email to ialipaecr@gmail.com with the following attachments:
1. Excel file containing your personal and abstract information (abstract submission file_attached), named as "Last Name, First Name_Session".
2. Abstract using the provided Word template (attached), named as "Last Name, First Name_Session".

3. Additionally, please fill out the Word file for the Mentimeter ECR Survey on Life and Work in Academia anonymously, saving the file with an ID of your choice (without your name). The fill-out file can be uploaded here:
If you have trouble accessing these files or submitting anonymously the survey, please reach out via email, and we will assist you while ensuring your privacy.
The anonymous survey is important for understanding key challenges faced by ECRs in limnogeology and paleolimnology. We aim to reflect collectively on these issues, alongside ECRs and more advanced researchers, to foster more inclusive research environments.
PASSIVE PARTICIPATION:
If you do not plan to submit an abstract but would like to attend the presentations and participate in discussions, please complete the registration form and select your preferred participation type (see options in career stage)
or only if needed, use the excel file (registration_form_passive participant, see option in career stage, https://cloud.rz.uni-kiel.de/index.php/s/c3fPd3EpYCPyJtE) and send it back to us.
